AIJA & MIIA - WONDER WOMEN - The WAU Project
M: "I surprised even myself by getting excited about the opportunity to take part in the mother-daughter painting for the Wonder Women -project. A chance to a new unique experience together gave me a push to suggest body painting to my mum. I really wasn't sure how she'd react to the idea..."
A: " I got immediately excited about the idea. I am finally living a period in my life when I can be brave and try new things without asking anyone's permission or thinking about what other people might think. This hasn't always been the case. I also feel the message of this project is important. It's wonderful to something new for a good cause." M: "Being part of this artwork gave me a new kind of opportunity to think about femininity and motherhood. By taking part I also want to be an example to my daughter. I hope to be at least partly the kind of role model my mum has been to me. This one of a kind experience also unites us in a totally new way. M & A: "The painting process was fun and rewarding. We lost the track of time following Riina's professional working. The feeling you get when you blend in and become part of a piece of art is hard to describe... Everyone should experience it themselves." AIJA Coordinator MIIA Designer |
